A Fresh Start, Built from the Ground Up
Ron and his wife had a vision for their forever home in Beaverton long before they ever lived in it. They had owned the house for years while working abroad in Taiwan, renting it out — but when the renters moved out, they left it worse for wear, and it still didn’t reflect the life Ron and his wife had built for themselves overseas.
Coordinating an entire whole-house remodel from across the Pacific, they trusted us to bring their distinctive warm industrial aesthetic to life, phase by phase, turning a house they owned into a home they finally recognized as theirs.

This Beaverton whole-home transformation was selected for exactly that — a project where structure and style worked together at every turn, from the hand-tooled hickory staircase to the reclaimed wood beams and stone fireplace that anchor the home.
The House Had Potential. The Layout Did Not.
- An Outdated, Disjointed Layout: The existing floor plan felt disjointed and inefficient, with no clear flow between the main living spaces.
- A Missing Mudroom: There was no dedicated drop zone for the family to transition in and out of the house, leaving entryways cluttered and chaotic.
- A Misplaced Laundry Room: The laundry was located on the wrong floor entirely, adding unnecessary steps to the daily routine.
- A Style That Didn't Fit: The home's existing aesthetic was far from the warm industrial vision Ron and his wife had in mind, feeling dated and generic in a way that didn't reflect who they are.
- An Underutilized Lower Level: A bonus room, crawl space, and unfinished areas sat largely unused — raw potential waiting for someone willing to see what they could become.
- Aging Decks and No Connection to the Outdoors: The existing decks were failing and due for a full rebuild, and there was no connection between the home's living spaces and the backyard.
Designed Around a Vision, Built Around a Life
Working closely with designer Kaitlyn, Ron developed a shared vision that honored his industrial-chic style while solving every practical pain point in the home. Because he could only spend a few days stateside selecting finishes, Kaitlyn pre-selected options and created renderings showing how each material would look in the space, making every showroom visit efficient and every decision confident.
Walls came down, rooms were reimagined, and custom wood details were woven throughout to give the space a character that feels both intentional and deeply personal. Every decision, from the custom stair system to the basement bar built from reclaimed wood and aged-look brick veneer, was made to serve the way this family lives and entertains.
The Details That Make It Home
— Phase 1: The Main Event —
A Staircase Worth Stopping For
The new semi-floating, open-riser staircase features glulam beams, rich knotty alder treads, and crisp black iron detailing. It's the first thing you see when you walk through the door, and it sets the tone for everything that follows.
A Mudroom That Actually Works
Removing a wall created a dedicated mudroom with custom built-ins for coats, shoes, and everything in between. It keeps the rest of the home calm, clean, and collected from the moment you walk in.
Fireplaces That Anchor the Gathering Spaces
Two fireplaces were resurfaced with natural stone and reclaimed materials, giving each room a warm, natural center point that reflects the rustic-industrial character Ron and his wife were after from the start.
Exposed Beams That Earn Their Place
The reclaimed wood box beams are a signature design element that brings warmth and texture to the space. Installing them required custom on-site work, with every range hood, electrical plate, and mounting surface traced, ground, and planed to fit the irregular depths of the reclaimed wood.

A Basement Born for Entertaining
What was once an underused bonus room is now a full entertainment suite anchored by a custom industrial-rustic bar. The exterior wall was extended by 8 feet to make it possible. Custom wood millwork, a reclaimed wood ceiling, and brick veneer walls wrap the space in texture and character.
A Basement Bathroom That Holds Its Own
The lower-level bathroom was fully remodeled with a bespoke shower enclosure, custom vanity, and refined stone tiling, continuing the brick-and-industrial aesthetic that runs throughout the basement.
A Sunroom That Earns Its View
A new sunroom addition off the primary bedroom features three floor-to-ceiling picture windows with functional awning windows above. Building it required precision waterproofing, structural engineering, and a seamless roofline tie-in.
A Two-Tier Deck That Connects It All
All three levels of the exterior required a complete deck reconstruction to support the basement extension and sunroom addition. The rebuilt multi-level deck system, constructed with Trex decking, connects the home's interior to the backyard and the pool. The guttering and roofline were also fully rebuilt, addressing previous water damage for good.

Consistent engineered hardwood and tile installed across the main and upper levels, tying the reimagined spaces together with a cohesive, updated look.
Kitchen Remodel
Fully updated with new cabinets, layout, appliances, quartz countertops, a dynamic slate backsplash, and a new pocket door to the main-level sunroom.
Living Room and Dining Room Updates
Both rooms refreshed and redesigned to flow naturally as part of the open, connected main level.
Butler's Pantry
A butler's pantry was incorporated into the design, replacing the original mudroom, adding storage and prep space that keeps the kitchen running smoothly.
Two Bathroom Remodels
Two bathrooms updated as part of Phase 1, including a primary bath reimagined as a bespoke spa suite with curbless shower, dual heads, freestanding tub, and private water closet.
Laundry Room Relocation
Moved upstairs where it belongs, with custom cabinetry, integrated cubbies, and a countertop for folding.
Sunroom Refresh
The original sunroom got a complete visual overhaul through paint, retrimmed windows, and rectangular window toppers replacing the original arched ones, transforming the look without changing the footprint.
